Happy New Year – Looking Back, Looking Forward

Well, today is the first day of the new year and I have to say I am really excited for what 2015 has in store. I’m not a fan of new year’s resolutions, but I do like to set myself some goals each new year, along with plans to meet those goals. Before I set any goals, though, I always like to spend some time reflecting on the last year. This last year was probably the hardest yet for me personally, but a lot of good also happened this year:

  • I made my first Art Doll
  • Taught myself to sew doll dresses
  • Opened an Etsy shop
  • Made my first few sales
  • Set up social media accounts and started gaining followers
  • Bought a domain name and created a website (thanks to my wonderful husband!!)

I’m so thankful for all that has happened this year with Dark Manor Dolls, but I’m so excited to take things further this year. I have high hopes for this year being so much better than last and I’m making plans to increase, grow, and do better in lots of areas. I plan to:

  • Get a business logo
  • Sketch more (with the hopes of one day having prints to sell)
  • Blog more (looking to do some detailed tutorials)
  • Gain more followers and do a big giveaway
  • Look into selling at a craft fair by the end of the year
  • And overall, create better art

I also have lots of ideas for new Art Dolls that I just can’t wait to start on!! Overall, I think this year is going to be great. But before I move on to making all this shit happen I have to stop and take a minute to say thank you. So many people have taken an interest in my work this year, as crazy as that seems to me, complete strangers who enjoy what I make. And I wouldn’t be able to keep making it if it wasn’t for all the love and support. So thank you, to all of you who are crazy enough to care about what I make. This year, I plan to keep going, keep growing, and make better art and I hope you will continue to follow along for the ride.

Happy New Year you crazy lovely people 🙂
